I saw the above suggestion and remembered something I put in the dev feedback channel a while back. The suggestion was to overhaul the party system.
The new system would be:
"Parties" and "Clans/Groups/Etc"
Parties would be a temporary thing you join with your friends to stay on the same team when available and can drag people into your game, just like some of the Minecraft servers do. This type of party system has been tried and tested and just works.
Clans would be a perm thing, a group of people. Works exactly the same as the current system.
Overall, my suggestion is to better the QoL of the players. I think the naming of "clans" is important. Maybe "Guild" "Alliance" "Group" "Club" or something similar. That is distinct enough from "parties" to not be confusing as Steve previously mentioned in the dev channel.
